Gene Thomas and Josie Marlow run neck-and-neck in the contest, They are

Garry. In New York, he finds Martha Gibson, a single mother with a
great voice. He arranges for her to move to Hollywood, but then has

In a pleasant variation on "The Ransom of Red Chief," elderly crook
Harry Denton, when challenged to prove he is "not past it," decides

(Musical | Romance)
[1 hour 36 minutes]

In Philadelphia, the soprano Prudence Budell returns from Europe
after a period of five years training in the best Europeans music
schools. Her millionaire grandmother Abigail Trent Budell sponsors
an opera company under the command of the famous maestro Jose Iturbi
to give a chance to Prudence to lead an opera. They hire the also
famous tenor Guido Russino Betelli, but Prudence does not feel
comfortable with him on the stage. When Prudence accidentally sees
the American-Italian truck driver Johnny Donnetti singing opera,
she convinces Jose Iturbi to give a chance to Johnny. They fall
in love for each other, but when Prudence visits his work to
tell that he will be hired, she meets Mary and she believes
Johnny is in love of his colleague.

Holiday in Havana
HOLIDAY IN HAVANA

(Comedy | Musical)
[1 hour 13 minutes]

Carlos Estrada, a busboy in a Cuban hotel who wants to become a
composer, is rebuffed by Mama Valdez when he tries to get her
daughter, singer-dancer Lolita Veldez, to use one of his songs.
Carlos thinks Lolita, who he has not met, is the one who turned
him down. He unexpectedly becomes the leader of the hotel band,
and they set out for Havana by bus to find a singer and dancer
to join them in the grand rumba contest at the annual carnival.
Lolita, who has her heart set on winning the contest, slips out
of her hotel and heads for Havana in a car driven by an American
agent, Marge Henley, who is trying to sign her up. With the
police, called by her mother, in pursuit she abandons the car and
catches the band bus and, under an assumed name, persuades Carlos
to take her to Havana with the band. Later, learning her true
identity, Carlos cools toward her. Will they clear up the
misunderstanding? Will they win the big contest?
Will romance conquer all?

Dancing in the Dark
DANCING IN THE DARK

(Comedy | Musical | Romance)
[1 hour 32 minutes]

Conceited film star Emery Slade was on top in 1932; in 1949,
he's broke and still insufferable. Fox producer Crossman enlists
Slade's aid to persuade broadway star Rosalie Brooks to star in
the film "Bandwagon." But when Slade meets Julie Clarke, his
assistant's onetime girlfriend, he decides she, not Rosalie,
should get the part. No one can fathom his motives for this
apparently selfless act, but there are a few tricks in the
old fox yet...and he'll need them all.

ON THE TOWN

(Comedy | Musical | Romance)
[1 hour 38 minutes]

Three sailors - Gabey, Chip and Ozzie - let loose on a 24-hour pass in
New York and the Big Apple will never be the same! Gabey falls head over
heels for "Miss Turnstiles of the Month" (he thinks she's a high society
deb when she's really a 'cooch dancer at Coney Island); innocent Chip
gets highjacked (literally) by a lady cab driver; and Ozzie becomes
the object of interest of a gorgeous anthropologist who thinks he's
the perfect example of a "prehistoric man". Wonderful music and
terrific shots of New York at its best.
